What is Cortexil PRP?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is plasma from the patient’s own blood with a therapeutic concentration of viable platelets around 1,000,000/μL.
Platelets prevent blood loss and then release bioactive substances and growth factors that trigger tissue repair and the synthesis of collagen and elastin — the key proteins for skin elasticity and structural strength.
Why Istanbul Clinic uses Cortexil PRP
We apply the Cortexil PRP protocol, a regenerative cellular technology in which platelet growth factors provide a strong impulse for rebuilding tissue structures and optimizing skin-cell function.
How it differs from “standard” PRP
Cortexil PRP is a modern approach aimed at launching natural regenerative processes. Classic PRP methods improve the environment but usually do not provide such a pronounced restorative effect.
What efficacy depends on
1) An optimal platelet concentration in plasma.
2) Correct timing of activation — platelets must activate in the tissues, not in the tube.
Clinically meaningful PRP is ≥ 1,000,000/μL. This is achieved by correctly forming and collecting the Buffy Coat — the leukocyte/platelet layer (up to ~9 million/μL) — and then diluting it with plasma to the target level.
How PRP is obtained
We isolate the Buffy Coat, then dilute it with the patient’s plasma to the therapeutic platelet concentration.
Required equipment
A Cortexil PRP syringe-tube with special surface treatment and construction that allows fast, precise Buffy Coat isolation — producing PRP of the required quality.
